Live-in caregivers live in the homes of their clients to provide care and help them maintain their independence. Live-in caregivers work with a single client at a time with longer weekly hours, predictable schedules and deeper personal connections. Both the clients and caregivers in a live-in arrangement have higher satisfaction levels than those with temporary arrangements.
We start with a simple 10-minute online job application to get a view of your qualifications, experience and preferences. We look for caregivers with at least one year of professional experience and preferably a related degree or certification.
We follow with a detailed video or face-to-face interview to understand what you like about being a caregiver, your skill-level and how you deal with different caregiving situations.
We talk to at least two of your previous references and validate your immunization records, vulnerable sector check and qualifications.
You get access to job postings on the ConsidraCare Caregiver portal for which you can apply. We also proactively match you with the clients whose elderly care needs best match your profile. We arrange interviews between you and the client families so they get to know you better.
In addition, you get access to our workshops and online university which has content to help you freshen up and improve your caregiving skills.
We then work with you to create an online profile on our ConsidraCare platform for our clients to help you put your best foot forward.
Once a family has decided to employ you, we assist the families with drafting your contract and orienting you, and setting up accounts for CRA, WSIB and payroll processing. The first week is a trial period to allow the families and you to get comfortable with each other before building a long-term partnership.
Should you need a respite break or a vacation, and have given us at least a 3 week notice, we arrange for a backup caregiver for such pre-planned breaks.
We engage with you monthly to review and update the senior care plans and the daily tasks lists.
You use the ConsidraCare caregiver app to coordinate senior care plans, daily tasks and timesheets with the family. We take care of payroll, updating the senior care plans, monitoring care delivery and assisting you with addressing any issues.
